How to check in
Licensed operators
Listen first. When Net Control asks for check-ins, key up and give your callsign phonetically, then release and wait to be acknowledged.
When recognized, give: your callsign, your name, your location, and whether you have traffic or announcements for the net.
Visitors and new hams
Visitors and new hams are always welcome. If you are nervous, just give your callsign and name — Net Control will walk you through the rest.
If you cannot hit the repeater, try a higher power setting or move to a window or outdoors.

This is the weekly DMR net of the K5MI Marco Hams Lunch Bunch. This net meets Wednesdays at 7:00 PM Eastern on Brandmeister DMR Talk Group 311278, which can be accessed using your personal hotspot as well as the K5MI DMR repeater 444.8125 which has a plus 5 MHz transmit offset and color code 1. This Net Control Operator today is <your call> and the name is <your name>, located in <location>. There is an optional on-line document session that occurs in parallel with and enhances this net. It runs on Google Docs and the link is available from Jim K3AVR. You are encouraged to log in to the Google Docs session and list your call, DMR ID, name, location and any interesting HAM activity, projects, travel or comments. Photos and links may be included. Break. (unkey for timer reset) The Lunch Bunch meets in person on Thursdays at 11:30 AM at the Speak Easy restaurant on Marco Island. All Hams are welcome as well as YLs. There is a Marco Island / Naples FM Net scheduled at 7:00 PM local time on Tuesdays on local K5MI repeater 443.650 with plus 5 offset and PL tone 141.3, which is linked to others including 146.85- / PL 141.3 and 443.100 / PL 67.0 through AllStarLink 634891. The SpiderWebNet meets on 14.347 USB twice a day at 1200 and 2230 UTC.
